Affordable counselling

I believe counselling should be available to as many people as possible not just those fortunate enough to be well-off financially.

Demand for counselling has risen but services have been cut. Free or low-cost counselling is now hard to find, usually involves very long waits, often only allows a few sessions and frequently is offered by trainee rather than qualified, experienced counsellors.

To try to make counselling with me as affordable as possible I have set up a transparent scale of fees for sessions that varies with your income. If your income is variable we can discuss what is fair for you.

I appreciate that this will still be beyond the means of many people who would benefit from counselling.

If that is you then I am sorry and hope that are you able to find the support you need. Here are some suggestions.

Many counsellors use the so-called “therapeutic hour” of 50 minutes. I prefer to work in 60 minute sessions as this seems to me to give a better space to open up and then close again whatever we are exploring.

Fees per session

Fees are paid online 24 hours before the start of the session. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice the session fee will still be payable.
